Our Sourcing
All of our butter comes from small farms located in Humboldt & Del Norte county, all certified organic and certified humane, with the cows being on pasture year-round due to our mild coastal climate.

We are a member of the North Coast Growers Association and spend every Saturday vending at the Arcata farmers market, so we like to support our local farmers first and foremost! Whenever possible, we use locally grown herbs, spices and produce (like peppers and onions) in our flavored products.
We believe that sourcing locally is more important than being strictly certified organic, which is why we do not have an organic certification for our products despite using mostly organic ingredients. We do, however, have an Organic Processed Product Registration so that we can list our certified organic ingredients as “organic” on the label. All of the farms that we source from are also members of the North Coast Growers Association, which means they have to abide by the NCGA’s strict non-GMO policy. Those farms are still utilizing organic/regenerative farming practices despite not being certified.
We have a few local businesses that provide us with other ingredients, such as the cocoa shells from Dick Taylor Chocolate that are infused in our Chocolate Chaga and Maca White Mocha — the shells are actually a “waste product” from making chocolate from the cocoa bean itself, so we get to give them a second life before they are eventually composted at a local farm.
Every single flavor is not only made with 100% local butter, but has at least one locally sourced ingredient. You will find the farm or business name right on the label of each jar.
